HCA
Applications
Image of cells

High Content Analysis allows one to acquire data at a speed that was inconceivable for a previous generation of scientists.

For example, 10 Western blots can be replaced by one 96-well plate, on which several assays can be performed. All the data can be obtained in a couple of hours only. Carrying the same experiment using Western analysis would take weeks.

Any Visual Change within a cell can be quantified

Multiple readouts in the same cell

Many parameters can be analysed at the same time in a cell. For example, you can measure for each cell the level of expression of a particular protein and its consequences on the cell cycle, morphology and multiple signalling pathways.

Semi-quantitative data per individual cell or sub-population

Unlike traditional methods, HCS provides information at a single-cell or sub-cellular level. This allows the detection of distinct phenotypic populations within the same sample.
